Reuben MC’ed our Respect in Action: Building Safe and Inclusive Sport event at Kardinia Park Stadium in May 2025 promoting the State Government’s Safe and Inclusive Sport: preventing gender-based violence Guide. The audience was made up of 80 people including leaders and staff from community sport, progressional sport, government, and the primary prevention and gender equity sectors. Reuben did a beautiful job of connecting to the diverse audience and tying his knowledge and experience of sport with concepts of gender equity and prevention. He generously and eloquently shared his own personal experiences of violence, encouraging people to understand their role in the prevention of gender-based violence. Reuben was reflective of his own privilege calling on leaders in sport to understand inequality and intersectionality. He was a pleasure to work with and we had amazing feedback about him in our post-event evaluation.’ - Jess Crofts, Manager Gender Equity at Sport and Recreation Victoria.

“Reuben brought a powerful presence to our Conversations That Matter panel, where he spoke alongside our keynote, Brittany Higgins. His story of surviving sexual assault was deeply moving and offered a much-needed male perspective on a topic that often lacks one. Reuben struck a rare balance, sharing with courage, compassion, and just the right touch of humour to make the conversation accessible and human. He was one of the most impactful voices on the day, and I’d highly recommend him to any event looking to create space for real, hopeful dialogue.” - Zac Lewis, CEO of Give Where You Live Foundation
